COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science (M.S.) in Chemistry at Wright State University is a research-intensive graduate program designed to prepare students for advanced scientific careers in academia, industry, and research laboratories through a combination of rigorous coursework, specialized training, and independent thesis research. Students must also complete required graduate-level components such as CHM 6900 (Critical Literature Analysis), CHM 8000 (Seminar), and CHM 8980 (Thesis Research), which together develop skills in scientific reading, communication, and research methodology. The program emphasizes hands-on laboratory research and critical engagement with current scientific literature, culminating in CHM 8990 (Thesis Defense), where students present and defend their findings. Throughout the program, students work closely with faculty mentors in active research areas, gaining experience in experimental design, data interpretation, and scientific presentation.
