COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership at Wright State University is designed for students seeking leadership, management, and organizational development skills applicable across business, nonprofit, government, healthcare, education, and military sectors. The program is especially transfer-friendly, allowing students with an associate degree or at least 60 semester credit hours to apply previous coursework toward completion of a bachelor's degree. Admission generally requires either an associate degree from an accredited institution or 60 or more credit hours, a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, and completion of foundational organizational leadership courses. The curriculum focuses on leadership theory, organizational behavior, communication, team development, decision-making, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and strategic leadership, helping students develop the skills employers consistently value in today's workforce. Students can further enhance their credentials through related options including an Organizational Leadership Minor, Organizational Leadership Certificate, and combined bachelor's-to-master's pathways leading to a Master of Education in Instructional Design and Learning Technologies or a Master of Science in Leadership Development. High-achieving students may pursue the Organizational Leadership Departmental Honors Scholar designation through the University Honors Program. This opportunity allows students to conduct an in-depth research project under faculty supervision and gain advanced leadership knowledge and research experience. Eligibility for honors requires admission to the major, completion of key leadership courses, a university GPA of at least 3.25, and an Organizational Leadership GPA of at least 3.85. The honors project spans two consecutive semesters and involves faculty mentorship and a formal application process. The fully online and flexible structure of the program allows students to balance education with work and personal responsibilities while accelerating degree completion through year-round course offerings.
