COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (BSET) at Wright State University is an interdisciplinary, career-focused engineering degree designed to prepare students for practical roles in modern industry by combining mechanical, electrical, industrial, and computing fundamentals into one applied curriculum. The program emphasizes real-world engineering design, production systems, automation, and operations management, making it especially suited for students who want hands-on technical careers rather than purely theoretical engineering study. Students first complete a core foundation that includes mathematics, physics, programming, circuit theory, engineering design, and statistics, ensuring strong analytical and technical skills. After the foundational phase, students choose a specialization track in either Industrial and Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering, allowing them to focus on areas such as manufacturing systems, supply chain optimization, automation, digital electronics, or control systems. A key feature of the program is its integrated minor requirement, where students complete either Business Analytics or Computing and Information Technology, strengthening their skills in data analysis, programming, databases, cybersecurity, or business decision-making. The curriculum also includes project management, engineering economy, Six Sigma quality methods, and systems design, preparing graduates for leadership roles in technical environments.
