COURSE CURRICULUM

The MBA in Finance at Wichita State University is a specialized AACSB-accredited graduate program that combines advanced business education with in-depth financial management expertise. The program can be completed with as few as 36 credit hours for students who qualify for advanced standing based on previous business coursework. Students with undergraduate business degrees from accredited institutions may receive equivalent credit for preparatory courses if they earned a minimum grade of C, while students from non-business backgrounds may be required to complete prerequisite and foundation courses in business calculus, statistics, accounting, finance, marketing, management, and economics. The Finance concentration is designed to provide students with specialized knowledge in organizational financial management, investment analysis, financial decision-making, and strategic resource allocation. The curriculum combines financial theory with practical business applications, ensuring students gain both conceptual understanding and real-world problem-solving skills. Finance concentration students additionally complete Behavioral Economics and Managerial Decisions, Managerial Accounting, Marketing Management, Operations Management, Advanced Managerial Finance, Advanced Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, and Management Information Systems. These courses provide a strong understanding of how financial decisions interact with broader organizational strategies and business operations.
