COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry with a Premedicine option at Wichita State University is a carefully structured program designed for students who plan to pursue advanced education in medicine or other health professions such as dentistry, pharmacy, optometry, or veterinary medicine. It combines a strong foundation in chemical sciences with essential biological and health-related coursework, ensuring students are fully prepared for the academic demands of professional medical training. Core chemistry instruction includes General Chemistry I and II (CHEM 211–212), Organic Chemistry I and II (CHEM 531–532), and Analytical Chemistry (CHEM 523), along with advanced Biochemistry I and II and a dedicated Biochemistry Laboratory (CHEM 662–664), which provide a molecular-level understanding of biological processes relevant to human health and disease.
