COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management at Wichita State University requires a minimum of 120 credit hours and provides students with the leadership, organizational, and project management skills needed for success in a wide variety of business environments. In addition to completing General Education requirements, students must satisfy the requirements of the AACSB-accredited W. Frank Barton School of Business, including 27 credit hours of BBA core coursework and 20 credit hours of Advanced Standing requirements. The Management major consists of 21 credit hours and allows students to choose between two specialized concentrations: Leadership or Project Management. The Leadership concentration focuses on developing effective managers and organizational leaders through required courses in Designing Successful Organizations, High Performance Leadership, and Building Remarkable Teams. Students then select four additional courses from topics such as negotiation, change management, diversity management, workplace behavior, project management, power and influence, international management, and global consulting experiences. The Project Management concentration is designed for students interested in planning, coordinating, and leading projects across industries. Required courses include Building Remarkable Teams, Introduction to Project Management, and Project Management Capstone, along with four elective courses chosen from leadership, organizational design, negotiation, diversity management, change management, international management, and related subjects. Both concentrations emphasize communication, teamwork, strategic thinking, leadership development, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational effectiveness. Students also complete open electives to reach the 120-credit-hour graduation requirement. The program develops practical management skills that can be applied in corporate, nonprofit, government, entrepreneurial, and international business settings. Graduates are prepared for careers as managers, supervisors, project coordinators, project managers, operations managers, business consultants, team leaders, human resource professionals, and organizational development specialists. The degree also provides a strong foundation for graduate education in business and management fields. Through a combination of business fundamentals, specialized management training, applied learning experiences, internships, and professional networking opportunities, the BBA in Management equips graduates with the knowledge and leadership abilities needed to manage people, lead projects, improve organizational performance, and advance into leadership positions across diverse industries and sectors.
