COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Entrepreneurship at Wichita State University’s Barton School of Business requires a minimum of 120 total credit hours to complete. The program is structured to combine general education, business foundation courses, advanced business training, and specialized entrepreneurship coursework. Students must first complete the WSU General Education Program, which typically accounts for about 34 to 35 credit hours and covers a broad range of academic subjects designed to build essential communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills. In addition, students complete core BBA requirements, including 27 credit hours focused on essential business disciplines, along with 20 credit hours of advanced standing requirements that strengthen their understanding of upper-level business concepts. The entrepreneurship major itself includes a series of specialized courses designed to develop innovation and venture-building skills. These include New Venture Feasibility Analysis (ENTR 440), Digital Entrepreneurship (ENTR 453), Entrepreneurial Finance (ENTR 455), Corporate Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ENTR 460), and New Venture Development (ENTR 668), each worth 3 credit hours. These courses focus on evaluating business ideas, understanding digital business models, managing entrepreneurial finances, and developing new ventures from concept to execution. Students must also complete 6 credit hours of major electives, which may include subjects such as Ethnic Entrepreneurship, Marketing Research, Cooperative Education, Independent Study, Professional Selling, International Marketing, and Consumer Behavior, allowing flexibility to match individual career interests. Finally, students complete additional open electives ranging from 17 to 18 credit hours to reach the required total of 120 credit hours. The program also requires that all majors contain at least 12 unduplicated credit hours, ensuring academic diversity within the curriculum.
