COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Economics requires a minimum of 120 credit hours for graduation. Students must complete the university’s general education requirements, the core requirements for all BBA programs, and the specific requirements of the economics major. The program includes 34–35 credit hours of general education courses, 27 credit hours of BBA core coursework, and 20 credit hours of advanced standing requirements. Economics majors must complete either Business Calculus (MATH 144) or Calculus I (MATH 242), along with Intermediate Macroeconomics (ECON 301) and Intermediate Microeconomics (ECON 302). Students are also required to complete 15 credit hours of upper-division major electives, including at least 9 credit hours in economics and an additional 6 credit hours approved by an academic advisor. To reach the 120-credit-hour graduation requirement, students must complete 12–15 credit hours of open electives. The program is designed to provide a strong foundation in business and economic theory while allowing flexibility through elective coursework, helping students develop analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills applicable to careers in business, finance, government, consulting, and economic research. Additionally, all majors must contain at least 12 unduplicated credit hours, while any minor pursued alongside the degree must include at least 3 unduplicated credit hours. This curriculum combines comprehensive business education with specialized economics training to prepare graduates for professional success and further academic opportunities.
