COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Environmental Management requires the completion of 36 credit hours, which include a set of core courses aimed at providing students with a comprehensive understanding of environmental science and management principles. The required courses cover a broad range of topics essential for managing environmental issues within business and regulatory frameworks. Students begin with Environmental Science, which lays the foundational knowledge of ecological and environmental processes. Production and Operations Management introduces the business operations aspect, enabling students to understand how environmental management integrates with organizational workflows. Environmental Law and Environmental Regulations and Compliance Auditing courses focus on the legal and regulatory environment governing environmental practices, teaching students how to navigate laws and ensure compliance.Environmental Accounting helps students grasp how to measure and report environmental costs and impacts financially. Management of Land and Water Resources and Management of Air Quality cover the sustainable management of critical natural resources, emphasizing strategies to protect and improve these vital components of the environment. Waste Management and Pollution Control addresses the handling and reduction of waste and pollutants to minimize environmental harm. The course on Environmental Risk Management and Strategies trains students to assess risks associated with environmental hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.In addition to these nine core courses, students must complete 9 credit hours of graduate electives, allowing them to tailor their studies to specific interests or needs by selecting courses from other related programs.
