COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Business Analytics program requires the completion of 36 credit hours, encompassing both required and elective courses. The required courses cover a wide range of essential topics designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for effective business analytics. These courses include Basic Finance for Managers, Applied Business Statistics, and Social and Ethical Issues in Analytics, which provide a foundation in finance, statistics, and ethical considerations in data use. Students also take Database Systems for Business Analytics and Data Analytics Foundations to develop technical competencies in managing and analyzing data. Further, courses such as ERP Systems and Business Transformation, Integrated Business Processes and ERP, and Descriptive Analytics and ERP Integration Practicum focus on enterprise resource planning systems and their application in business processes. Data Visualization and Machine Learning for Business Analytics are also key components, enabling students to communicate insights visually and apply predictive analytics techniques. Marketing Analytics is included to address analytics specifically within marketing contexts.In addition to the required courses, students must choose one elective from a selection of specialized topics to complete their degree requirements. The elective options include Introduction to Cybersecurity, which explores security issues in data handling; Analytics Programming with R, focusing on practical programming skills for data analysis; and Project Management of Information Technology, which covers the management aspects of IT projects. It is important to note that ITM 5000 is not a prerequisite for this program.An additional requisite course, BUSN 5000 Business, may be required for some applicants. Specifically, those who have not earned an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution or whose previous business education does not come from a school with recognized business accreditation must complete this course. It will count as an elective towards the MSBA degree. This structured curriculum is designed to provide a balanced blend of theoretical understanding and practical skills to prepare graduates for complex business and marketing data challenges.
