COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Arts in Education and Innovation program requires a total of 30 credit hours, divided equally between core and elective courses. The 15 credit hours of core courses provide foundational knowledge and skills essential for fostering innovation and creativity in educational and organizational settings. These courses include Foundations of Global Citizenship, which emphasizes the importance of global awareness and responsibility; Creativity and Innovation, focusing on developing creative thinking skills; Creative Multimedia Design for Innovative Learning, which introduces multimedia tools for enhancing learning experiences; Transformative Learning, highlighting personal and professional growth through education; and Design Thinking, which teaches problem-solving approaches for innovative solutions. Together, these courses equip students with a strong conceptual and practical foundation in educational innovation.In addition to core courses, students must complete 15 credit hours of electives, which allow for customization based on individual interests and career goals. Electives can be selected from a variety of program-relevant courses, including Digital Storytelling, Instructional Development, Foundations of Workplace Learning, and Evaluation of Training Programs. Leadership and Innovation, Restorative Justice, Mindfulness, and Innovations in Learning Systems are also options, offering diverse perspectives on education and leadership. Sustainability-focused courses such as Foundations of Global Sustainability, Sustainability Institute for Educators, and Economics: Choices and Challenges provide additional interdisciplinary opportunities. Up to nine credit hours of approved transfer courses or in-service courses can be applied toward the elective requirement, enabling students to incorporate prior learning or professional development. This flexible elective component allows students to tailor their education to their unique professional needs, while the core courses ensure a comprehensive understanding of innovation, creativity, and transformative learning principles. Overall, the curriculum balances theory and practice to prepare graduates to lead and inspire change in education and related fields.
