ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Webster University is a private university based in Webster Groves, Missouri, with multiple branch locations across the U.S. and in Europe, Asia, and Africa. It has a global alumni network of approximately 170,000 graduates.Founded in 1915 by the Sisters of Loretto as Loretto College, it was one of the first Catholic women’s colleges west of the Mississippi River. The institution was renamed Webster College in 1924, and in 1962, it began admitting male students. In 1967, the Sisters of Loretto transferred ownership to a lay Board of Directors, making it the first Catholic college in the U.S. to be entirely under lay control. In 1983, it officially became Webster University.Today, Webster University continues its commitment to global education, diversity, and academic excellence, offering a range of undergraduate and graduate programs across multiple disciplines.
