Behavior Analysis is the scientific study of how environmental factors influence behavior, with the goal of understanding, predicting, and improving human and animal behavior across many settings. The program prepares students in both experimental and applied behavior analysis, combining research methodology with practical intervention skills. Students learn core principles of behavior, conceptual foundations, and evidence-based techniques for designing and evaluating behavioral interventions. The curriculum emphasizes how to systematically apply behavioral technology in real-world environments and how to measure and analyze behavior using rigorous scientific methods, including single-subject research designs. Training includes practical experience implementing behavior intervention programs and conducting applied research in natural settings, helping students develop competence in both laboratory and community-based contexts. A strong focus is placed on culturally responsive and ethical decision-making, ensuring that future behavior analysts can work effectively in increasingly diverse populations. The program also includes specialized preparation in areas such as autism spectrum disorders, early intervention, staff training, and behavioral health applications. The program also aligns with certification requirements for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential, making it a direct pathway into professional practice in behavior analysis.The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) graduate program at the University of North Texas provides advanced research training in modern laboratory environments across multiple campus facilities, including the Life Sciences Complex, the Science Research Building, and the Environmental Education, Science and Technology Building. Students engage in high-level scientific research using state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure designed to support both basic and applied life sciences.
