COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Advanced Data Analytics with a concentration in Health Data Analytics at the University of North Texas is a flexible 30-hour graduate program designed to prepare students for careers in the rapidly expanding field of healthcare analytics. The program is structured to accommodate both working professionals and full-time students through accelerated and traditional course delivery options. All core courses are offered in accelerated 8-week sessions across the fall, spring, and summer terms, allowing students to progress efficiently through the curriculum. The accelerated online format offers five start dates per year, including August and October in the fall, January and March in the spring, and June in the summer, enabling students to begin the program at multiple points throughout the year. Students can complete the degree in as little as 12 months when following the accelerated pathway. For those preferring in-person learning, courses are also available in a traditional 16-week format at both UNT Frisco and the main Denton campus during fall and spring semesters. The program includes 18 hours of core coursework and 12 hours of concentration coursework, with specialization options in digital retailing, health data analytics, management, and statistics, allowing students to tailor their studies to their career goals. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of big data, statistics, machine learning, and data visualization to solve complex real-world problems, particularly within healthcare systems. Students develop the ability to collect, process, and interpret large datasets to improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and organizational performance in healthcare settings. Concentration courses such as Financial Issues in Health Services Administration, Marketing Health Services, Large Data Visualization, Data Storage and Retrieval, Big Data Discovery and Learning, and Healthcare Information Systems provide both technical and industry-specific knowledge. Overall, the program equips graduates with the analytical and practical skills needed to succeed in healthcare organizations, health technology companies, insurance firms, and other data-driven industries.
