The Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics is a professionally oriented graduate program that combines advanced studio practice, technical training, and conceptual development within a highly specialized artistic discipline. The program provides students with access to exceptional facilities and equipment, including a wide range of kiln technologies such as Blaauw gas kilns, soda/salt kilns, wood and raku kilns, and computer-controlled electric kilns. Students also benefit from modern fabrication and production tools like CNC routers, CNC plasma cutters, laser cutters, resin printers, clay mixers, and a full-spectrum decal printer, allowing for both traditional ceramic practices and innovative digital approaches. The ceramics studios are located in a new, state-of-the-art facility featuring indoor and outdoor kiln areas, dedicated critique spaces, and private studio spaces for graduate students, creating an environment that supports intensive artistic development and experimentation. Faculty members are actively engaged artists who mentor students closely, encouraging them to develop their full creative potential through rigorous practice and critical engagement. The program emphasizes diverse research methods and artistic processes, supporting innovation, scholarship, and personal expression in ceramics.
