The Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics offers an advanced and immersive educational experience that combines creative exploration, technical mastery, and professional artistic development. The program provides students access to exceptional facilities and specialized equipment, including Blaauw gas kilns, soda and salt kilns, wood and raku kilns, computer-controlled electric kilns, clay mixers, and a full-spectrum decal printer. Students also benefit from advanced digital fabrication technologies such as three- and five-axis CNC routers, CNC plasma cutters, laser cutters, and resin printers, allowing them to integrate both traditional ceramic methods and contemporary digital processes into their artistic practice. Ceramics courses are housed in a modern, state-of-the-art facility that includes indoor and outdoor kiln areas, critique spaces, and private graduate studios, creating an environment that supports experimentation, collaboration, and focused studio work. Faculty members are dedicated artists and educators who actively mentor students and encourage them to develop their creative potential through diverse approaches to research and art-making. Some pursue entrepreneurial careers as independent ceramic artists or work with manufacturers and large-scale studios specializing in tableware, home décor, tourism crafts, and commissioned works.
