COURSE CURRICULUM

The Residential Property Management concentration within the Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate at the University of North Texas combines specialized industry preparation with strong business education to prepare students for careers in the multifamily housing and property management industries. Faculty members bring significant professional expertise as certified brokers, appraisers, right-of-way agents and consultants, allowing students to learn directly from professionals who remain actively involved in industry research and trends. Their real-world experience is integrated into coursework, giving students practical insight into residential property operations, leasing, valuation, market analysis and real estate law. Students also benefit from scholarship opportunities provided by the department and organizations such as the International Council of Shopping Centers Foundation and the Commercial Real Estate Women Network, along with support from successful UNT alumni. The program is housed within UNT’s G. Brint Ryan College of Business, which is accredited by AACSB International, a distinction awarded to business schools that meet high standards of excellence in business education. Students study in the Business Leadership Building, a modern LEED Gold-certified facility designed to encourage collaboration through advanced classrooms, study spaces and computer labs. One major advantage of the program is that many students become eligible to sit for the Texas real estate licensing exam after completing only a few courses, allowing them to begin professional real estate work before graduation. Graduates are prepared for positions such as assistant property manager, leasing agent, real estate sales agent, mortgage lender, appraisal analyst and residential operations specialist. Many continue into advanced leadership positions as investor-developers, owner-operators, corporate real estate executives and senior leaders of major property management firms. With strong industry partnerships, alumni mentoring, internships and networking opportunities in the rapidly expanding Dallas–Fort Worth real estate market, UNT’s Residential Property Management program gives students the business knowledge, technical expertise and professional connections needed to succeed in residential real estate and property management careers.
