COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate at the University of North Texas combines academic excellence with strong industry preparation to help students build successful careers in commercial and residential real estate. Faculty members are not only experienced educators but also certified brokers, appraisers, right-of-way agents and consultants who actively stay engaged with current industry trends through research and professional practice. Their real-world expertise strengthens classroom learning and gives students practical insights into property valuation, investment analysis, development and property management. Students also benefit from scholarships provided by the department and prestigious organizations such as the International Council of Shopping Centers Foundation and the Commercial Real Estate Women Network, along with support from accomplished UNT alumni. The program is housed within UNT’s G. Brint Ryan College of Business, one of the nation’s largest business schools and accredited by AACSB International, a distinction earned by only top business colleges worldwide. Students study in the modern Business Leadership Building, a Gold-level LEED-certified facility designed to encourage collaboration among students, faculty and industry leaders through advanced classrooms and team study spaces. One of the program’s biggest advantages is that many students become eligible to take the Texas real estate licensing exam after completing only a few courses, allowing them to begin professional work early in their academic careers. Graduates are prepared for careers as commercial and residential real estate agents, leasing specialists, appraisers, mortgage loan officers, property managers, analysts for banks and developers, right-of-way agents and property inspectors. Many continue into leadership roles as commercial realtors, investor-developers, corporate real estate executives and executives of major property management firms. With access to the rapidly growing Dallas–Fort Worth real estate market, strong alumni support and extensive networking opportunities, UNT’s Real Estate program provides students with the business knowledge, professional skills and industry connections needed to succeed in a competitive and evolving field.
