COURSE CURRICULUM

The Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas is located within the fifth-largest media market in the United States, giving students access to outstanding internship and career opportunities with advertising agencies, news organizations, public relations firms, and digital media companies throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Students gain extensive hands-on experience through coursework, advanced classrooms and multimedia labs, and participation in student-run media outlets such as North Texas Daily, NTTV, and NT Daily Radio. These experiences allow students to practice reporting, writing, broadcasting, editing, photography, digital storytelling, and multimedia production in real-world settings. Student organizations within the Mayborn School are nationally recognized and provide valuable networking opportunities, mentorship, leadership experience, and professional connections with alumni and industry professionals. The program also offers study abroad opportunities where students can explore international media systems, including global journalism, broadcasting, magazines, online media, and communication practices while earning academic credit. The Mayborn faculty brings more than 400 years of combined professional experience into the classroom, helping prepare nearly 1,000 students for careers in modern media and communication industries.
