COURSE CURRICULUM

In addition to general university internship and career services, the department also provides a dedicated job placement officer who actively helps students find internships and job opportunities while also preparing them for interviews and professional careers. Students can also gain valuable hands-on research experience by working with centers such as the Center for Economic Education, the Center for Environmental Economic Studies and Research, and the Economics Research Group, allowing them to engage directly in applied economic analysis and policy research. Some graduates also pursue careers in education, law, or continue with advanced studies in economics or related fields. Common employers include companies like Citigroup, Texas Instruments, GEICO, and Buxton. The curriculum includes courses such as History of Economic Thought, Economic Cycles and Forecasting, The Economics of Health Care, Strategic Behavior Across Market Structures, Industrial Organization and Public Policy, and Urban Economics, all designed to strengthen students’ understanding of economic systems, policy analysis, and real-world applications of economic theory.
