COURSE CURRICULUM

The Physics program at the University of North Texas provides students with strong academic preparation, hands-on research opportunities, and close interaction with experienced faculty members who are actively involved in innovative and pathfinding scientific research. This knowledge contributes to many important industries and research areas, including energy research involving advanced batteries and solar cells, medical diagnostics and therapy, semiconductor and photonics technology, space and atmospheric sciences, education, technology business, journalism, and scientific research. Graduates pursue careers in research laboratories, business, government agencies, the armed forces, national laboratories, education, and organizations such as NASA. Some graduates work on developing new electronic technologies, teaching physics, or supporting space exploration research. The program also provides excellent preparation for medical school or graduate study in physics and related scientific fields. Courses such as Electricity and Magnetism, Mathematical Methods in the Physical Sciences, Physical Optics, Physics Computation and Software Applications, Quantum Mechanics, and Modern Physics help students develop both theoretical understanding and practical scientific expertise for a wide range of professional and academic opportunities.
