COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Human Resources is a 36-credit graduate program designed to prepare professionals for advanced careers in human resource management by emphasizing the strategic role HR plays in achieving organizational competitive strategy. The program develops the knowledge and competencies needed for effective HR leadership in a dynamic global environment, with attention to globalization, diversity and inclusion, corporate social responsibility, and strategic leadership. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of core human resource functional areas including recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, change management, and learning and development, along with a strong foundation in HR processes and data-driven decision-making through human resource analytics. A central objective of the program is to prepare students to function as strategic business partners who can align HR practices with organizational goals and contribute to workforce effectiveness and organizational success. The curriculum also builds essential professional skills such as communication, ethical reasoning, and analytical thinking for managing complex workplace environments. The degree consists of 36 credits, including 21 credits of core courses covering business analytics, human resource management, strategic HR capstone experience, compensation administration, multicultural workplace issues, employment law, and organizational behavior. Students then complete a 12-credit Talent Management concentration focused on leadership and team building, personnel management, training and development, and performance management processes, preparing them to design and implement effective systems for recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-performing workforce. Finally, a 3-credit restricted elective allows additional specialization through courses such as managerial communication, global economics, employee benefits systems, or public sector personnel administration, or by selecting an approved course from another concentration. Overall, the program is designed to produce HR professionals capable of integrating strategic thinking with practical talent management expertise to support organizational effectiveness and long-term workforce development.
