COURSE CURRICULUM

The STEM-designated Master of Science in Business Analytics with a concentration in Global Supply Chain Analytics is a 30-credit graduate program designed to prepare students for advanced careers in business analytics, operations management, logistics, procurement, and supply chain decision-making. The program integrates business knowledge with advanced skills in data management, predictive analytics, machine learning, business intelligence, and data visualization to help students analyze and solve complex organizational challenges. Students learn how to identify and rationalize appropriate data sources for operational functions and research questions while developing the ability to collect, prepare, and analyze data from public and commercial sources to support strategic business decisions. The curriculum emphasizes the practical application of analytics techniques in real-world business environments, helping students formulate testable research questions and implement predictive analytic models that improve organizational performance and operational efficiency. Students also develop strong communication skills by learning how to present analytical findings and business insights in clear, non-technical written and visual formats through dashboards, reports, and data visualization tools. The program includes 21 core credits focused on business analytics fundamentals, database management, data mining, forecasting, Power BI dashboarding, and data visualization and communication. Through these courses, students gain technical expertise in business intelligence systems, forecasting models, and analytical software used in modern organizations. The program concludes with either a Business Analytics Capstone or an approved internship experience, allowing students to apply their analytical knowledge to real business problems and industry projects. The Global Supply Chain Analytics concentration provides specialized training in supply chain operations, procurement, logistics, quality management, and operational decision-making. Courses in global supply chain management, procurement management, logistics and distribution management, operations management, and supply chain quality improvement help students evaluate supply chain performance, develop efficiency metrics, and optimize organizational processes using analytical tools and data-driven strategies. Internship opportunities further provide practical industry exposure and professional development within global business and supply chain environments. The concentration-specific learning outcomes focus on appraising supply chain efficiency, improving quality management systems, and developing decision-making metrics to support operational performance and strategic planning.
