COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program at the University of New Haven is designed to develop future-ready business leaders by combining rigorous training in accounting, finance, economics, analytics, marketing, and management with a strong global and applied learning perspective. The program begins with a foundation core of 4.5 credits in Accounting Foundations (ACCT 6619), Economics for Managers (ECON 6633), and Introduction to Finance (FINC 6601), which builds essential quantitative and economic reasoning skills. This is followed by a 25-credit program core that strengthens managerial and strategic competencies through courses such as Managerial Accounting (ACCT 6621), Business Analytics (BANL 6100) with a supporting lab, Managing in a Global Economy (ECON 6644), Corporate Finance (FINC 6602), Leadership and Team Building (MGMT 6663), Leading Organizational Strategy and Change (MGMT 6668), Strategic Management Capstone (MGMT 6669), and Marketing Analysis and Customer Value (MKTG 6610). Together, these courses ensure students can analyze business problems, integrate cross-functional knowledge, and develop data-informed solutions for complex organizational environments. Students then select a 9-credit concentration aligned with career goals, with options including Strategic Leadership, Business Analytics, Cyber Risk Management, Data Analytics (STEM), Financial Analysis (STEM), Global Supply Chain Management (STEM), and Marketing and Digital Marketing (STEM). The Strategic Leadership concentration focuses on advanced decision-making, organizational transformation, and leadership strategy, offering electives such as Entrepreneurship, Risk Management, Organization Theory, Global Business Simulation, and International Marketing. Across all concentrations, students are trained to apply analytical tools, evaluate global and ethical business challenges, communicate effectively in professional settings, and lead change in diverse and multicultural organizations. Internship opportunities, experiential learning, and capstone experiences further enhance practical exposure, ensuring graduates are prepared for leadership roles in corporate, consulting, entrepreneurial, and global business environments.
