COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Business–Management major within the University of New Haven—specifically under the Pompea College of Business—builds a structured pathway that combines a standardized business foundation with specialized international management training and language immersion. At the core level, students complete quantitative and analytical preparation through courses like College Mathematics, Business Analytics, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics, alongside introductory business, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking coursework. These requirements ensure students develop strong numerical literacy, economic reasoning, and foundational business understanding before entering upper-level study. The Pompea College of Business core then expands into a 30-credit business backbone covering accounting, finance, marketing, management, business law, organizational behavior, ethics, and capstone experiences, providing a comprehensive understanding of how firms operate across functional areas. On top of this, the International Business–Management major adds a focused 36-credit specialization emphasizing human resources, workforce diversity, multinational management, and contemporary global business issues, ensuring students can analyze and manage organizations operating across multiple countries and cultural environments. A key distinguishing feature of the program is its strong international requirement structure, including advanced foreign language study (typically up to Foreign Language III or IV) and a required international exposure experience such as semester study abroad, international internship, or faculty-led global programs.
