COURSE CURRICULUM

The Industrial and Systems Engineering curriculum is designed to provide students with strong foundations in engineering, mathematics, programming, systems analysis, manufacturing, operations management, and data analytics while preparing them to solve complex real-world industrial and organizational problems. During the freshman year, students build core technical and communication skills through courses in calculus, chemistry, engineering analysis, programming in C, communication, and introductory engineering design. The junior year emphasizes systems optimization, production planning, manufacturing systems, probability, statistics, instrumentation, and systems engineering design. Students gain practical industry exposure through internships and technical laboratory work while developing skills in operations analysis, manufacturing processes, and systems integration. Students may also choose pathways focusing on mechanics and materials or computer-based systems involving databases and Python scripting, allowing flexibility based on career interests. In the senior year, the curriculum focuses on advanced industrial engineering applications such as quality analysis, lean six sigma, simulation modeling, data analytics, and systems optimization. Students complete a two-part capstone design project where they apply engineering knowledge to solve complex industrial or systems engineering challenges in realistic professional settings. Technical electives allow students to specialize further in areas such as manufacturing, operations research, analytics, systems engineering, automation, or technology management. The curriculum also includes courses in history, global awareness, and creative arts to encourage interdisciplinary understanding and communication skills. Overall, the program combines engineering theory, computational methods, business principles, statistical analysis, project management, and practical experience to prepare graduates for careers in manufacturing, logistics, operations management, consulting, healthcare systems, technology industries, and data-driven engineering environments.
