COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Esport and Digital Game Management combines business education with specialized knowledge of the esports and gaming industries to prepare students for careers in one of the fastest-growing entertainment and technology sectors worldwide. The program integrates the University Core Curriculum with the Pompea College of Business core requirements to provide strong foundations in communication, quantitative reasoning, analytics, economics, ethics, and leadership while also emphasizing creativity and global awareness through courses such as Global Esport and Digital Gaming Landscape and Narrative Structures in Games. Students complete business-focused coursework in accounting, finance, marketing, management, business law, business analytics, entrepreneurship, organizational leadership, ethics, and strategic decision-making, ensuring they understand how gaming and esports organizations operate within competitive global markets. The specialized major curriculum focuses directly on the digital gaming and esports ecosystem, beginning with introductory courses in digital game management and esport management, followed by advanced study in governance and regulatory practices, financial and revenue strategies, and esport operations management. Students also take an introduction to game development course that provides understanding of the technical and creative aspects of game creation, helping bridge business and gaming perspectives. Practical learning is a major component of the degree, with students completing a required internship that provides real-world industry experience and opportunities for networking and professional development, while an optional second internship may also be completed through free electives. The program culminates in a capstone course where students apply their knowledge to real industry challenges and strategic projects related to esports and digital gaming management. In addition to required coursework, students have flexibility through free electives, allowing them to explore additional interests or develop complementary skills in areas such as media, marketing, technology, communication, or game design. Overall, the program prepares graduates for careers in esports operations, digital marketing, gaming business management, tournament and event coordination, game publishing, content creation, sponsorship management, and other leadership roles within the rapidly expanding global gaming and esports industry.
