COURSE CURRICULUM

Students then progress into advanced topics such as Advanced Computer Networks, Network Defense, Cloud Computing, Ethical Hacking, and an internship or research experience that provides real-world exposure to cybersecurity environments. A two-part capstone sequence in network analysis, design, and implementation ensures hands-on professional-level application of knowledge. Students also choose a programming elective (such as Java Programming or Data Structures and Algorithms) and a network administration elective (Windows or Unix systems) to deepen technical specialization. The Network Security concentration further requires two advanced electives in areas such as cryptography, memory forensics, artificial intelligence, wireless computing, and advanced digital forensics, allowing students to focus on modern security challenges. Additional academic breadth is ensured through mathematics or laboratory science electives, including calculus, statistics, physics, chemistry, biology, or environmental science, which strengthen quantitative and scientific reasoning. The program also includes restricted electives and free electives for customization, along with a professional enrichment requirement.
