COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics at University of New Haven combines business education, quantitative analysis, machine learning, economics, and data-driven decision-making to prepare students for careers in analytics and business intelligence across multiple industries. Students complete the 41-credit Pompea College of Business University Core Curriculum, which emphasizes mathematical literacy, business fundamentals, economics, critical thinking, entrepreneurship, and analytics foundations. Core courses include Applied Business Math, Introduction to Business Analytics, Introduction to Business and Entrepreneurship, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics, helping students develop analytical reasoning and business understanding. The Pompea College of Business core curriculum further strengthens professional and managerial skills through courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, business finance, marketing, business law, management, ethics, analytics in value chains, and professional business development. Students also complete a business capstone and professional enrichment experience that help integrate academic learning with career preparation and real-world business applications. The major requirements focus heavily on business analytics, data management, predictive modeling, and machine learning. Students learn dashboarding techniques for management analytics, data visualization and communication, supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods, database management, econometrics, business forecasting, and decision-making under uncertainty. These courses help students develop the technical and analytical skills needed to collect, organize, analyze, visualize, and interpret data for strategic business use. The curriculum also includes Knowledge Management and a Senior Project that allows students to apply analytical techniques to practical business problems and real-world organizational challenges. Students further customize their education through concentration requirements, selecting additional upper-level business analytics or advisor-approved courses that align with career goals and industry interests.
