COURSE CURRICULUM

The Full-Time MBA program is a one-year accelerated graduate degree designed to build advanced business knowledge, leadership capability, and practical decision-making skills for professionals aiming to move into senior roles or switch career paths. The program is structured around 48 total credits completed through 16 courses, and it begins each August on the Durham campus, with most electives offered in online or hybrid formats to provide flexibility. Because classes are scheduled in both daytime and evening sessions, the program is intensive and not compatible with full-time employment, emphasizing full immersion in business education. Students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA to graduate and earn at least a B- in all coursework, ensuring strong academic performance across all subjects. The curriculum includes a comprehensive set of core courses that cover essential business disciplines such as accounting and financial reporting, economics of competition, financial management, marketing, operations, technology strategy, data-driven decision-making, international business, and corporate strategy, culminating in a Corporate Consulting Project where student teams solve real-world business problems for client organizations. An internship is also a required component, typically completed during later terms, providing hands-on professional experience and exposure to potential career paths. A unique feature of the program is a required residency during spring break, offering immersive experiential learning. Students can further tailor their education through specialized elective tracks in areas such as analytics, finance, marketing, healthcare industry, human resource management, growth and innovation, and sustainable global business, each designed to align with specific career goals. The program also includes opportunities for applied learning through consulting projects, internships, and real-world case analysis, ensuring that graduates develop both theoretical understanding and practical skills.
