COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Analytical Economics at University of New Hampshire is designed to build strong quantitative, analytical, and economic reasoning skills through a structured set of course requirements totaling about 61 credits. Students must complete eleven economics courses with at least a C- grade in each and maintain an overall major GPA of 2.3 or higher, ensuring consistent academic performance. The program begins with foundational courses such as principles of macroeconomics and microeconomics, followed by business and economic history, and is supported by key technical courses including calculus for social sciences, computing essentials, management information systems, and business analytics and statistics. These courses provide the mathematical and data-driven base necessary for advanced economic analysis. As students progress, they take specialized courses like predictive modeling, intermediate microeconomics and macroeconomics with calculus, and econometrics, where they learn to apply statistical methods to real-world economic data. Advanced econometrics further strengthens their ability to analyze complex datasets and make accurate predictions. The program also includes professional development courses focused on innovation, research, and career preparation, helping students build practical and workplace-ready skills. A capstone course, applied research skills for economists, serves as the final component, allowing students to integrate their knowledge and conduct in-depth economic research while fulfilling university graduation requirements. In addition, students must select at least two elective courses from a wide range of topics such as international economics, artificial intelligence, labor economics, climate change, game theory, and machine learning, enabling them to tailor their studies according to their interests and career goals.
