COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics at the University of New Hampshire is a structured and rigorous program that emphasizes both advanced mathematical theory and the flexibility of a liberal arts education. Students in the major are required to maintain strong academic performance, earning a grade of C- or better in all mathematics courses used toward the degree and maintaining a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 within the major. The curriculum builds a solid foundation through core courses such as Calculus I and II (MATH 425 and 426), Mathematical Applications with MATLAB or equivalent programming courses, Linear Algebra (MATH 545 or MATH 645), Differential Equations with Linear Algebra (MATH 527), Multidimensional Calculus (MATH 528), Mathematical Proof (MATH 531), Introduction to Statistical Analysis (MATH 539), Abstract Algebra (MATH 761), and One-Dimensional Real Analysis (MATH 767), ensuring students develop both computational skills and deep theoretical understanding.
