COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diagnostic Science and Medical Laboratory Science track is highly specialized and job-oriented, focusing on microbiology, biochemistry, hematology, and clinical internships, making it strong for healthcare careers like lab technologist or hospital diagnostics, but it is intensive in biology and chemistry. The Earth Sciences (B.S. and B.A.) programs are broader and flexible, covering geology, climate, oceanography, and environmental science, leading to careers in climate tech, government agencies, and research, with the B.S. being more technical and the B.A. more flexible. Economics (B.A.) is a balanced option combining math, data analysis, and policy, opening careers in finance, consulting, analytics, and public policy, especially if you choose the sustainability option. Engineering programs like Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering are the most rigorous, requiring strong math, physics, and programming skills, but they offer high-paying careers in tech, electronics, and healthcare innovation. The BSEP interdisciplinary engineering program is flexible but still technically demanding. On the other hand, English majors (literature, writing, digital media, or teaching) focus on communication, critical thinking, and creativity, leading to careers in media, education, content creation, law (3+3 program), or public service, though they may require further specialization for high-paying roles. The Education BA is ideal for policy, social impact, or further teaching qualifications but does not directly give teaching certification. In simple terms, if you want high salary and technical work go for engineering, if you like biology and healthcare choose diagnostic science, if you prefer data and business go for economics, and if you enjoy writing, creativity, or teaching then English or education is better.
