COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Forensics program provides students with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in technology, law, business, and investigative science, preparing them to analyze and respond to cyber incidents and digital crimes. The curriculum begins with foundational courses such as Introduction to Information Systems, Introduction to Digital Forensics, Information Technologies for Business, Financial Accounting, Introduction to Psychology, and either Introduction to Law and Criminal Justice or Business Law. These courses build essential knowledge of how digital systems, human behavior, legal frameworks, and financial systems interact in forensic investigations. Students also develop quantitative and analytical skills through Elementary Statistics. Core competency courses such as Networking and Cryptography, Introduction to Cyber Security, Introduction to Database Systems, and Programming for Analytics provide technical training in securing systems, analyzing data, and understanding digital infrastructures. The concentration courses allow students to specialize in areas such as computer forensics, mobile and memory forensics, cyber defense, database security, forensic accounting, fraud examination, risk analysis, cyber incident response, penetration testing, and multimedia forensics. These advanced topics prepare students to investigate cyberattacks, detect fraud, and analyze digital evidence across various platforms. The program culminates in capstone experiences including Advanced Digital Forensics and eDiscovery Forensics and Moot Court, where students apply their skills in realistic investigative and legal scenarios. Overall, the program equips graduates with the technical expertise, analytical abilities, and legal understanding needed to pursue careers in cybersecurity, digital forensics, law enforcement, financial crime investigation, and cyber risk management across both public and private sectors.
