COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the University of Southern Mississippi requires a minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate-level study, designed to develop advanced managerial, analytical, and leadership competencies aligned with professional business practice and global organizational needs. The required core includes ACC 611 Managerial Accounting, which focuses on using accounting information for internal decision-making, planning, and control within organizations, and FIN 611 Financial Management, which develops expertise in financial analysis, capital budgeting, investment decisions, and corporate finance strategy. Students also complete MGT 600 Organizational Behavior and Leadership, which examines human behavior in organizational settings and strengthens leadership, communication, and team management skills. MGT 660 Strategic Management integrates knowledge from multiple business areas to train students in long-term planning, competitive analysis, and strategic decision-making at the organizational level. In addition, MKT 600 Marketing Management provides an advanced understanding of marketing strategy, consumer behavior, market analysis, and brand management in a dynamic business environment. Beyond the core requirements, students complete 15 credit hours of College of Business and Economic Development electives, allowing for specialization in areas such as finance, marketing, management, analytics, or entrepreneurship depending on individual interests and professional objectives.
