COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Sport Management (BSBA) is a professionally oriented degree designed to prepare students for leadership and administrative roles within the sport and recreation industry. The program combines a strong foundation in core business disciplines such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, analytics, and economics with specialized coursework in sport management that focuses on the unique operational, financial, legal, and ethical aspects of the sports industry. Students develop skills in sport communication, leadership, facility and event management, sport marketing, sport finance, and sport analytics, enabling them to understand both the commercial and organizational structure of professional, collegiate, and community sport systems. The curriculum is structured to provide applied learning experiences through practicums, internships, and real-world sport industry engagement, allowing students to build practical competencies alongside theoretical knowledge. In addition to sport-specific training, students complete general education requirements in written communication, natural sciences, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, and oral communication to ensure broad intellectual development and critical thinking ability. A capstone course in global managerial policy and strategy integrates all areas of study and prepares students for high-level decision-making in sport organizations. The program also emphasizes professional communication, business technology, and analytical skills to enhance employability in a highly competitive job market. Elective options allow students to tailor their degree toward areas such as sport entrepreneurship, sport security, NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) strategy, or international sport management. Upon completion of the 120-hour program, graduates are equipped for careers with professional sports teams, collegiate athletic departments, recreation organizations, sport marketing agencies, and governing bodies, as well as for graduate study in sport management or related business fields. Overall, the program aims to produce industry-ready professionals who can manage sport organizations effectively, make data-informed decisions, and adapt to the rapidly evolving global sports environment.
