COURSE CURRICULUM

A Finance BSBA degree (120 hours) is designed to build strong skills in business, economics, accounting, and financial decision-making. In the General Education part, students first complete basic courses like English composition (ENG 101 and ENG 102), mathematics (College Algebra or higher), natural sciences with lab work, humanities such as literature, philosophy or history, and social sciences like economics, psychology or sociology. These subjects develop communication, analytical thinking, and general knowledge needed for business studies. A writing-intensive course (like Business Communication or Technical Writing) and a speaking-intensive course (like Public Speaking) are also required, along with a senior capstone course in global managerial strategy, which brings all learning together in a final real-world business analysis. The major courses then focus on finance and business fundamentals, starting with financial management, money and capital markets, and investments, which teach how money moves in markets and how companies make financial decisions. Students also take mathematics for business, accounting (financial and managerial), economics (macro and micro), business law, management, marketing, operations, and information systems to understand how companies operate as a whole. After the core, students choose specialized finance electives such as real estate finance, security analysis, international finance, bank administration, estate planning, or public finance depending on their career interests. Additional requirements include data analytics, business communication, and sometimes a foreign language, which help students prepare for global business environments. Overall, this program prepares students for careers in banking, investment, corporate finance, insurance, real estate, government financial agencies, and financial planning by combining theory, practical tools, and analytical skills needed in modern financial industries.
