COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting BSBA degree program is a 120-credit undergraduate course designed to provide students with strong business, accounting, communication, and analytical skills needed for professional careers in accounting and finance. The program combines general education courses with specialized business and accounting subjects to create a balanced academic foundation. Students complete courses in written communication, humanities, mathematics, science, social sciences, speaking, and writing-intensive studies, helping them improve critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities. The curriculum includes laboratory-based science subjects, history, philosophy, economics, public speaking, and calculus-related mathematics courses. Alongside general education, students complete the College of Business core curriculum, which covers financial accounting, managerial accounting, finance, management, marketing, operations management, business analytics, economics, management information systems, and business law. The major accounting courses focus on advanced professional accounting knowledge through subjects such as accounting information systems, accounting analytics, cost accounting, intermediate accounting, auditing, government and non-profit accounting, federal income tax accounting, and law in accounting. Students must earn at least a grade of “C” in every major accounting course to graduate. The program also includes practical business communication and technical writing courses to strengthen workplace readiness. A capstone course, Global Managerial Policy and Strategy, is completed during the senior year to integrate business and management knowledge into real-world strategic decision-making. Additional flexibility is provided through elective choices in communication, language, and mathematics courses. Overall, the Accounting BSBA program is structured to prepare graduates for careers in public accounting firms, corporate finance departments, government agencies, auditing, taxation, consulting, and other financial sectors while also building the academic background necessary for professional certifications and future graduate studies in accounting or business-related fields.
