COURSE CURRICULUM

The Health Sciences (Health Care Studies) BS degree (120 hours) is designed to prepare students for careers in healthcare support roles as well as for future entry into nursing or other advanced health professional programs. The curriculum combines general education, science foundations, healthcare-focused coursework, and two minor areas of study so that students develop both broad academic knowledge and specialized skills. In general education, students complete writing, mathematics, natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, communication, and capstone requirements, which build essential skills in critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving. The science foundation includes courses such as anatomy and physiology, chemistry, microbiology, and biology, ensuring students understand the human body and basic medical science. Writing-intensive and speaking-intensive requirements ensure students can communicate effectively in professional healthcare settings.
