COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Sport Management requires 120 total credit hours and is structured to provide students with both foundational academic knowledge and specialized industry preparation for careers in the sports sector, with the curriculum divided into general education, sport management core courses, program electives, and general electives to ensure a balanced and comprehensive education; the sport management core consists of 39 credit hours covering essential topics such as introduction to the sport industry, fan experience development, club management, social issues in sport, sport tourism, facility management, marketing and promotional strategy, sport sales, financial management, legal and ethical issues, risk management, and current industry trends, giving students a deep understanding of how the sports business operates while developing practical decision-making and leadership skills; a key component of the program is the required internship, which provides hands-on professional experience and allows students to apply classroom concepts in real-world sport management settings, helping them build industry connections and career readiness; in addition to the core, students must complete 9 credit hours of program electives selected from approved courses such as hospitality management, event planning, collegiate athletics, sports governance, research methods, and corporate events, enabling them to customize their studies according to their career interests; the remaining coursework includes 53 credit hours of general education and 19 additional elective hours, ensuring students gain broad academic exposure alongside specialized training; overall, the program is carefully designed to combine theory, experiential learning, and flexibility, preparing graduates for diverse careers in areas such as sports marketing, event coordination, facility operations, athletic administration, and sports organization management, while equipping them with the analytical, organizational, and leadership skills necessary to succeed in the fast-paced and competitive sports industry.
