COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Construction Engineering is a 125-credit professional degree designed to prepare students for careers in managing and executing complex construction projects that shape modern infrastructure. The program combines engineering fundamentals, construction-specific knowledge, and management principles to train students in how buildings, roads, and infrastructure systems are planned, designed, and built efficiently and safely. Students begin with foundational coursework in engineering science, including statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, surveying, and construction materials, which provide the technical base needed to understand structural behavior and construction processes. As the curriculum progresses, students study core construction engineering subjects such as geotechnical engineering, structural design, construction methods, cost estimating, safety engineering, scheduling, and engineering management. A capstone design experience integrates these topics, allowing students to work on realistic construction projects and apply technical and managerial skills in a team environment. Supporting coursework in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and engineering statistics ensures that students develop strong analytical and quantitative abilities essential for solving real-world engineering problems. Elective options in engineering systems allow further exploration of areas such as fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and electrical engineering, broadening the student’s technical understanding of related systems.
