COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Statistics program includes a focused set of core and supporting courses designed to build strong analytical and quantitative skills for business decision-making. The main program coursework totals 18 credit hours and includes key subjects such as Intermediate Statistical Methods, Statistical Quality Control, Statistical Programming and Computing with R, Applied Regression Analysis, and Statistical Inference I and II. These courses provide students with a solid understanding of how to analyze data, build statistical models, and apply computational tools to real-world business problems. Students learn how to work with data using programming (especially in R), perform regression analysis, and apply inference techniques to draw meaningful conclusions, all of which are essential skills in modern data-driven industries.In addition to the core courses, students must complete an ancillary requirement of Calculus II (or its honors equivalent), which adds 4 credit hours. This mathematics course supports the theoretical understanding of advanced statistical concepts, particularly those related to probability, inference, and modeling. Together, these requirements ensure that students gain both the theoretical foundation and practical skills needed to interpret data, solve business problems, and support strategic decision-making. The program is designed to prepare graduates for roles that require strong statistical reasoning and technical competence, making them valuable in fields such as data analysis, business analytics, quality control, and research.
