COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre requires students to complete a structured core curriculum along with specialized training in their chosen concentration, beginning with a mandatory audition or interview for admission into the program, which must be scheduled through the department’s official process; only students who successfully pass this selection stage are admitted into a BFA concentration. After admission, students must maintain their place in the program through periodic evaluations that assess their progress and performance within their field of study, ensuring consistent development of professional-level skills. The core curriculum includes foundational and advanced theatre courses such as Introduction to Theatre, Acting I, stagecraft or costume construction, directing or arts management, and comprehensive theatre history courses that provide both practical and theoretical understanding of the discipline. In addition to classroom learning, students are required to complete multiple practicum courses, which emphasize hands-on production participation and real-world theatre experience across several semesters. A major requirement of the program is the completion of a senior project or final presentation, allowing students to demonstrate mastery of their craft in a culminating performance or production-based work.
