COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Taxation program requires 24 credits of core coursework and 6 credits of approved electives, totaling 30 credits. The required courses provide a comprehensive foundation in taxation and include Tax Research and Business Analytics (ACCT 628), Corporate Taxation I and II (ACCT 631, 642), Taxation of Partnerships (ACCT 641), Tax Accounting (ACCT 643), Tax Analytics (ACCT 648), State and Local Taxation (ACCT 649), and International Taxation (ACCT 651). These courses develop technical competence in tax law, research, and planning while integrating analytical and business perspectives. Students then select 6 elective credits from a broad range of specialized taxation and accounting courses such as Advanced Financial Reporting and Analysis (ACCT 520), Advanced Applied Analytics & Decision Analysis (ACCT 550), Estate and Gift Taxation (ACCT 633), Advanced Individual Taxation (ACCT 645), Estate Planning (ACCT 650), S Corporation Taxation (ACCT 662), or Experiential Learning in Tax (ACCT 575). Additional electives cover topics like Business Analysis and Valuation, Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk, Financial Analytics, and Mergers and Acquisitions, as well as law courses such as Real Estate Law and International Business Transactions. This flexible curriculum allows students to tailor their studies to specific professional interests while mastering the complex principles and applications of modern taxation.
