COURSE CURRICULUM

The Educational Administration and Leadership master’s program requires a total of 30 credit hours designed to prepare students for leadership roles in educational settings and to meet the requirements for Ohio Principal Licensure. The curriculum includes foundational courses in organizational leadership, management of physical and human resources, and understanding school contexts and community involvement, which provide students with the knowledge to effectively lead and manage educational institutions. Courses in school law, school finance and economics, supervision of instruction, and student services and disability law further equip students with the practical and legal understanding necessary to navigate the complexities of school administration. A critical component of the program is the two-semester principal internship, which offers supervised, hands-on experience in educational leadership, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world school settings while developing essential administrative skills. Together, these courses and experiential components ensure that graduates are prepared to address diverse challenges in school leadership, implement effective policies, support staff and student development, and foster a positive educational environment. The program integrates academic rigor with professional practice, providing a comprehensive pathway for students to earn a master’s degree, complete licensure requirements, and advance their careers as competent, ethical, and effective school principals.
