COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Sport Business at The University of Akron is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in business principles while emphasizing the unique aspects of the sport industry. The program requires 120 credit hours, including 36 credits in General Education, 7 credits in additional business requirements, 39 credits in the College of Business Core, and 33 credits in Sport Business coursework. General Education courses build essential skills in mathematics, statistics, communication, writing, natural and social sciences, arts and humanities, and diversity, while also offering integrated and applied learning experiences. Additional business requirements cover finite mathematics, introductory statistics, and professional development seminars, ensuring students develop quantitative and analytical skills. The College of Business Core includes foundational courses in economics, accounting, finance, marketing, management, supply chain, business analytics, strategic management, and international business, preparing students for decision-making in complex organizational environments. Sport Business-specific coursework focuses on sport industry principles, strategic leadership, financial issues, applied sales, current topics, and a culminating consulting project, with additional approved electives allowing students to tailor their studies.
