COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Statistics, Actuarial Science program is a 120-credit, four-year curriculum that combines mathematical theory, statistical analysis, and business applications to prepare students for actuarial and analytical careers. In the first year, students take foundational courses such as Analytic Geometry and Calculus I & II, English Composition, social sciences, and foreign language, building essential communication and quantitative reasoning skills. The second year introduces Applied Statistics, Regression and ANOVA, and core business courses like Accounting Principles, Economic Analysis, and Finance, alongside Programming for Data Science to strengthen computational proficiency. In the third year, students study Theoretical Statistics I & II, Statistical Data Management, and specialized actuarial topics such as Risk Management, Investments, or Actuarial Models, integrating statistical principles with real-world financial applications. The program also emphasizes critical thinking, ethics, and cultural diversity through humanities and diversity coursework. In the final year, students participate in Statistical Consulting, applying statistical modeling, forecasting, and decision-making techniques in professional settings. Electives allow for further specialization in areas such as Machine Learning or Time Series Analysis.
