COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology Associate of Applied Science program combines foundational general education with specialized technical coursework to prepare students for careers in electrical and electronic systems. Students complete 15 credit hours of general education, including academic foundations in mathematics, statistics, logic, speaking, and writing, alongside breadth of knowledge courses in natural and social sciences, with an emphasis on selecting courses that align with Ohio Transfer 36 and diversity requirements. Program-specific general education requirements include Technical Algebra and Trigonometry and College Physics I, which provide the essential mathematical and scientific foundation for advanced technical courses, while additional math and physical science courses, such as Technical Calculus I and College Physics II, further strengthen analytical and problem-solving skills. Core technical training encompasses the fundamentals of engineering drawing and a comprehensive series of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology courses, covering circuit fundamentals, electronics and computers, AC circuits, electronic devices and their applications, digital circuits, microprocessor applications, machinery and controls, electronic communications, and culminates in an electrical and electronic project, ensuring hands-on experience and applied knowledge. Together, these courses develop practical skills in applied mathematics, electrical circuitry, digital and analog electronics, microcontrollers, power and control systems, and instrumentation, equipping graduates to enter technical roles in manufacturing, maintenance, R&D, or continue toward a bachelor’s degree in related engineering technology fields.
