COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering (BME) is an interdisciplinary program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to innovate at the intersection of engineering, biology, chemistry, and medicine. Students learn to apply quantitative, analytical, and engineering approaches to develop healthcare solutions, including medical devices, biological implants, diagnostic tools, and other technologies that improve patient care and advance biomedical science. The program emphasizes both technical mastery and practical application, combining coursework in mathematics, physics, biology, and engineering with hands-on laboratory experiences and project-based learning.To graduate from the School of Engineering, students must complete a total of 133 credit hours, with the Pre-medical/Biotechnology track requiring 135 credit hours. The curriculum integrates core engineering principles, biomedical coursework, and electives, providing students the flexibility to explore specialized areas of interest and gain interdisciplinary expertise. Practical experiences, research opportunities, and collaborative projects are central to the program, preparing students to tackle complex challenges in healthcare technology while considering ethical and societal implications.Graduates of the BME program are prepared for careers in medical device design, biotechnology, healthcare technology, clinical engineering, and research, as well as for advanced graduate or professional studies in engineering, medicine, or biomedical sciences.
