The Master of Music (M.M.) program offers a range of specialized concentrations, each requiring 36 credit hours and designed to develop advanced musical skills and professional expertise. Students can choose from areas such as Choral Conducting, Instrumental Conducting, Composition, Jazz Performance, Voice Performance, Latin Music Performance, and various instrumental performance options including keyboard, string, guitar, woodwind, brass, and percussion. These programs primarily follow a non-thesis format, focusing on performance, practical training, and artistic development. Additional options like Performance and Pedagogy combine performance skills with teaching methods, preparing students for both stage and instructional roles.For students interested in academic and research-focused paths, the program also offers thesis-based concentrations such as Musicology and Theory, where students engage in in-depth study and scholarly research. All programs are offered at the San Marcos campus and provide opportunities for performance, collaboration, and professional growth.
